Race report: Paris supercross Sunday

Dylan Ferrandis won the superpole but got too keen coming out of turn one in race one and tried to jump past Jordi Tixier but they collided off the first jump and both went down – not a good start for the French fans!

Meanwhile upfront, Zach Osborne  led Friese and Brayton with a mid-pack start by Anderson fording him to ride through the field.

Osborne held off Frise for the win Anderson puttingna blistering outside pass on Brayton with two turns to go to grab third. Soubeyras rounded out the top five. Ferrandis got back to tenth.

In race it was Justin Brayton who took the holeshot but Jason Anderson was on his tail and eventually made the move with just over 3 minutes to go to take the lead and Osborne then made the love on Brayton for second.

Ferrandis, although fast, suffered a poor start killing his chances of the win and came through to fourth with Vince Friese fifth.

The final longer main moto was somewhat professional affair. Justin Brayton holeshot but didn’t put up much of a fight whine Jason Anderson passed for the lead, Osborne moved by him for second and Dylan Ferrandis after another terrible start out Brayton back to fourth.

With the top three all riding their own race and not close to each other it looked that would be the way it would finish until Zach Osborne got an unfortunate puncture gifting Ferrandis second and putting Brayton back on the podium.

But it was all about Jason Anderson in the French capital who controlled the race and the event to become King of Paris in 2018.

Home favourite Dylan Ferrandis perhaps had the speed to challenge him but the Frenchman made bad starts and a couple of bad decisions that ultimately meant he couldn’t challenge Anderson the way he wanted too except for that second moto win on Saturday night.

Paris weekend overall results:

1. Anderson 2. Ferrandis 3. Osborne
