ProGrip Yamaha MX United announce 2018 line up!

The ProGrip Yamaha MX United team were a new team for the 2017 season and after a successful first year the team have announced their riders for the season ahead.

The team are happy with Rasmus Hakansson who was with the team competing in the EMX125 series this year. He will now move up to the EMX250 series and the team are happy to keep him and give him the opportunity of racing that series. It will be a rookie year for Hakansson on the 250cc so he will be hoping to learn as much as possible.

Unfortunately, Christopher Mills has left the team but the team will still be present in the EMX125 series. They welcome the talented Nikita Kucherov to the team. The Russian will move up from the 85cc to the 125cc for the year ahead. Kucherov has spent the last few years with the Pfeil Kawasaki team but will swap green for blue and will be looking to learn as much as possible in the EMX125 series.

The team have decided to expand on their rider line up for the 2018 season as they also welcome Levi Schrik to the team. Schrik won the 65cc small wheels Dutch title this year, so the team hope he is a rider for the future. Schrik will move up to the 85cc small wheels machine for the year ahead.

Rasmus Hakansson: “I feel like it is good for me to stay in the team. I have good people around me and they are always supporting me. Now I know the people really well and it feels like home to be there. Now I have moved up to the 250. It feels quite good I have to say. Still have much work to do but at the moment it feels good. Because it is the first year on 250 next year I want to gain some experience, hopefully We can add some results on that. For last, I want to thank all the sponsors, family and of course the team for still believing in me.”

Nikita Kucherov: “We received a good offer from Yamaha and decided to move up to 125cc. Thanks to Yamaha for the opportunity.  2018 will be my rookie year on the 125cc, I will compete in the EMX series, Dutch Championship and “Dutch Masters”, and will give my best throughout the course of the season.”

Levi Schrik: “This year I became Dutch Champion in the 65cc small wheels and have gained some European Championship experience in a few races, where I even finished 3rd in Mill NL. This was a great opportunity to join the YAMAHA MX United team that we have received from Herman Seesink and will of course do our very best next year. We are going to compete in the ONK races in the Netherlands on the 85 small wheels and are still thinking about a number of EMX65 races. We will only decide on that in the new year. I would also like to thank Haes Racing, Progrip, de Jong Tweewielers, Blijlevens Assurantien and Schrikkel.nl for their support.”
