Preview: International Italian Championship kicks off this weekend

The first round of the Italian International MX EICMA 2019, marks the return of the Motocross season this weekend. There will be some very important debut races too with riders having their first race with a new team.

In MX1, Arminas Jasikonis will debut on the Husqvarna FC 450 managed by the team Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory. Due to a bronchitis, Jeremy Seewer’s debut on the YFZ 450 of the team Monster Energy Yamaha Factory run by Michele Rinaldi will be postponed. The Swiss rider should be on track at Ottobiano in a weeks time. Gautier Paulin, who is looking for redemption, is back in blue riding for Yamaha Monster Energy Wilvo MXGP team. Benoit Paturel will also be debuting his Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki machine.

Moving to the MX2 class, the two new recruits of the 114 Motorsport Honda team managed by the world champion Livia Lancelot; Pichon and Evans will debut for the French team. For Zachary, son of the multi-world champion Michael, it is a matter of understanding whether he can follow in his fathers footsteps. It will also be interesting to see the Australian, Evans at work, after he put in a good Motocross Des Nations event. Samuele Bernardini, who returns to the Japanese bike after his long stay with TM will ride the Yamaha YFZ 250 of the Ghidinelli Yamaha team for the first time.

The first race of the year will also be important for two of the most promising Italian talents who make the move to four-strokes: Mattia Guadagnini, will be riding the Husqvarna FC 250 of the Maddi Husqvarna team, while Emilio Scuteri will race the KTM 250 SX F managed by the Celestini Junior Team.

On track will also be the magnificent Italian trio of the Motocross Des Nations at Red Bud, with Tony Cairoli, Alessandro Lupino and Michael Cervellin. All three riders will compete in the three races of the International Italian Championship – Riola Sardo (OR), Ottobiano (PV) and Mantova.
