Jorge Prado struggled with the heat at Ottobiano last year but this year just shows how much he’s improved both mentally and physically as a rider.
Prado ended up a solid second in the first moto but you had the impression he had more in the tank for the second moto which proved to be the case.
In the second moto, Prado got the holeshot but the front four riders were quite close until about ten minutes to go before Prado decided to break away at the front. The Spaniard sensation ended up winning by just over seven seconds from Thoms Kjer Olsen who earlier passed his team mate, Thomas Covington to earn second spot.
Pauls Jonass didn’t get the best of starts but quickly got himself into fourth. From then on he could only pass Covington but still did end up on the podium with a third overall.
In terms of the championship chase, Prado has now closed the gap to nine points heading into the double header at Indonesia which will host rounds twelve and thirteen.
