Prado on moving to MXGP: Very big step

What an unbelievable two season’s it’s been for Spanish sensation, Jorge Prado. Two world titles in two years, it doesn’t get much better than that but a new challenge will present itself for the 2020 season.

Prado will move up to the MXGP World Championship to race the 450cc. At the end of the season at the Motocross Des Nations, Prado made his big bike debut representing Spain and already showed he has good speed finishing fourth in the MXGP class.

With a full winter getting comfortable with the bigger bike, Prado has the potential to be right at the front of the competitive MXGP class. It’s obviously not easy to make the jump up to MXGP but this kid is special.

“I’m very happy with my two world titles. But this is going to be a very big step, jumping to the main class, MXGP, riding with the big boys let’s say”, Prado told MX World.

“Next year, there will be like seven world champions (note: Herlings, Cairoli, Prado, Jonass, Gajser, Febvre and Tixier) riding in this class so you can’t imagine, the level is going to be so high. I will try to work as hard as I can to make my dreams. I mean, we will see. Hopefully in the future, I can be one of those stars”, added Prado.
