Prado does the double at Assen!

Jorge Prado controlled both motos at Assen to take a giant step towards being world champion. The Spaniard just needs five points to secure his first ever world title in two weeks time in Italy.

His teammate Jonas faltered again not helped by a first turn crash and riding with an injured knee sustained in the collision with Prado at the last GP, which meant he hadn’t been on the bike in two weeks.

A cool and calm Prado said: “It was a great weekend, good starts and won both motos, it was tough in the second one with the lappers.”

Thomas Covington took two great starts from the outside to run up front in both motos for second overall with teammate Olsen third despite a small tip-over while running third in race two.

Calvin Vlaanderen gave the Dutch fans something more to cheer about with a great ride for second in race two but just missed the podium.
