New challenge for Ryan Mawhinney

New challenge for Ryan Mawhinney

Young Irish talent, Ryan Mawhinney has a new challenge for the year ahead as he’ll move up to the 125cc in 2019.

Mawhinney had a good year with the Hitachi KTM UK team and even won his first British title on the 85cc which is a great achievement.

For 2019, Mawhinney will team up with Jon Giffard at JGR Performance who’s a well respected name in the British paddock as he’s previously worked with MBO Yamaha.

Not only will Mawhinney race the MX Nationals UK series but he will also contest the Dutch Masters of Motocross which is a four round series. In that series he’ll be up against some big talents in the form of Kay de Wolf, Kay Karssemakers and Dave Kooiker to name just a few so it’s a great opportunity for him and he’ll learn a lot during his rookie year on the 125cc.

“My 2018 season was a excellent year winning my first British title in England riding for Roger Magee at Hitachi KTM UK with the help of Robert Gibson. I have enjoyed this season on my last year on the 85 but I am very excited to move up in to the 125 class in 2019”.

“I will be completing in the MX Nationals and the Dutch Masters Championship. Jon Giffard at JGR Performance will be taking care of my race bikes for next year and he is willing to help me achieve my goals so I look forward to working with him”. Mawhinney commented.
