After winning the Ulster MX2 Championship this year, James Mackrel will have a new challenge for the 2018 season as he moves up to the MX1 class.
Mackrel will swap his KTM for Honda machinery next year and has already started to put the laps in on his Honda MX1 machine.
Mackrel plans on racing the entire MX1 Maxxis British Championship in 2018 and compete at other selected events throughout the course of the season.
Mackrel will get some support from Russell Motorcycles and Jason Mccotter for the year ahead.
James Mackrel: “It should be a good year for us all and a good experience as last year didn’t go to plan with bike issues and not being comfortable. I’d like to thank all the people behind me for the 2018 season which include Russells, PFMotox, Risk, Fly Racing, G&G Ross, TPF Performance Gym, Jason Mccotter, Formula Car Wash, Bushmills, Atomized Art, JJ Quinn Electrical, Tropical Heat and mostly my mum and dad”.
