MXGP of France still to be decided

The French GP on the 9th and 10th of May has been postponed** due to the Coronavirus but they are hoping to re-run the race at the end of June.

A statement said:

After careful consideration, Moto Club Angerien, the local organizer, has decided to postpone the French MXGP round. The French GP motocross in Saint-Jean d’Angély was scheduled for May 9-10.

The decision to look for a new date is mainly due to organizational uncertainty. This, in turn, is a consequence of the range of measures that must slow down the coronavirus.

MC Angerien chairman Jean-Marie Boissonnot “After obtaining advice from the prefecture, it turned out that the organization of our competition could be banned up to two days before. This in the context of protecting the health of the public, volunteers, drivers and officials. That’s why we made the decision to cancel the race that was scheduled for May 9-10. We will keep you informed of the new date. We are aiming for this at the end of June.”

**UPDATE** Infront say no decision has yet been made on the date of the MXGP of France, so there is still a chance the race could run on the 9th and 10th of May. Hopefully a decision can be made in the near future regarding the event.
