Mixed fortunes for the Standing Construct KTM team in Argentina

The Standing Construct KTM team has had mixed fortunes at the opening round of the world championship MXGP in Argentina. On the beautiful track of Neuquen the first of twenty rounds was held.

Max Anstie was showing a great speed on Saturday and qualified himself in fifth position for the race on Sunday.
Unfortunately disaster struck the Brit in the opening moto when he made a small crash and was forced to retire from the race due to a mechanical problem. Anstie and the Standing Construct KTM team stayed motivated and took their revenge in the second moto. Anstie crossed the finish line in fourth place and with this position he showed that his speed is promosing for the rest of the season.

Ivo Monticelli and Glenn Coldenhoff were having a more difficult time in Argentina. Coldenhoff was only back on the bike for two weeks after his injury and is still searching for the right rhythm. He tried to salvage the damage and finished in 17th and 18th position. Monticelli showed a good speed in both motos but wasn’t able to keep the pace high till the end and had to be satisfied with 15th and 16th position.

The next Grand Prix is in three weeks time in Matterley Basin, Great Britain. The riders have three more weeks to prepare themselves for the next round. On the 17th of March the team will ride the first round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross at Axel.
