Reigning Irish MX2 champion, Jason Meara, is on top form heading into this weekend’s British championship round at Desertmartin.
The Loughbrickland rider is fresh off three race wins an Irish championship event last weekend and is showing a new maturity to his riding in 2018 aligned with his famous raw speed.
Meara hasn’t competed in any of the first three rounds of the British championship but is ready to put himself right in the mix this weekend at home event and believes he is in the best form of his career.
”I’m really excited for Sunday’s Maxxis British championship,” admitted Meara. “It will be the first round I have raced this year but I believe I am riding the best I ever have been and my results are proving that.”
Meara though, isn’t going in with any expectations and just wants to do his best. “I don’t have any expectations of myself and the only pressure I have comes from me, but I intend on giving it my best and hope for some good results.”
Meara has looked at one with his Watt KTM this year and if he gets the starts on Sunday, could well surprise some people who haven’t been used to seeing at British championship level in 2018.
