Mausser makes jump up to the MX2 World Championship

Young Slovenian rider, Maks Mausser will make the jump up to contest the MX2 World Championship in 2019.

For the last two seasons, Mausser has competed in the EMX125 series. The natural progression into the World Championship would tend to be a move into the EMX250 championship first but Mausser has the opportunity to make the direct jump up straight away.

Tim Gajser’s father, Bogomir worked with Mausser as a trainer in 2018. However, for 2019, Bogomir will start his own team and will have Mausser under the GT243 team’s awning.

Mausser will make the switch from Husqvarna to Honda machinery for the year ahead as the GT243 will run the same machinery as Tim Gajser. The team will contest the European rounds of the MX2 World Championship in 2019.

“I’m going to ride the MX2 World Championship because we speak with my coach Bogomir Gajser and I also have better feeling on 250cc. Next year my coach will also have a team – GT243. I am really looking forward for next year, we will ride all European rounds of the MX2 World Championship and I will try to do my best and hope to ride inside the points. I really want to say a big thanks to Bogomir Gajser who gives me this big opportunity. I want to say a big thanks also to my family who supports me”. Mausser commented.
