Ken Bengtson will switch from a Yamaha to Husqvarna machinery for the 2018 season. The Swede has inked a deal with CEC Racing and will receive support from Husqvarna Scandinavia.
The Swede spent the year with the I-Fly JK Yamaha team competing the EMX250 series and whilst he had the option to stay with the team for another year to move up to the MX2 World Championship he doesn’t yet feel ready to make that jump yet.
Bengtson plans to compete in the EMX250 series once again during 2018, he acknowledges it’s tough to make it to all the rounds and it will depend on the budget but he’s hoping to get to all eleven rounds.
As well as the EMX250 series, Bengtson will compete in the Swedish MX2 Championship and some enduro events in Sweden too when he has a free weekend.
Bengtson had a good season in the EMX250 series finishing eighth in the championship with some highs and some lows. He will be hoping for a better season in 2018 and hopefully break into the top five of the series.
“I look forward to compete on a brand that’s born in Sweden and for this great group of people that made this thing come together. I can not say anything about my expectations about 2018 other than i will do my best and have fun on the way.
I would like to thank JK racing for the opportunity they gave me this year and i have really enjoyed racing with them! I also want to say a big Thanks to Yamaha, Mafi, Mc service Tibro, RG3 suspension scandinavia, Power By JJ, JSS stålteknik, Big Wipes, CTI kneebraces sweden, Made stickers, Bridgestone. Also, a special Thanks to Carl Bengtsson and to all my other friends and family for making 2017 awesome”
