Kemea Yamaha have announced their team for the 2017 season. Benoit Paturel, Brent Van Doninck and Alvin Ostlund will be part of the rider lineup for next year as the team focuses on the MX2 class again and becomes the official Yamaha MX2 team.
All the riders have signed two year contracts which is quite interesting. 2017 will be Paturel’s last year in the MX2 World Championship so it means he will stay with the Kemea Yamaha outfit in 2018 for his rookie year in the MXGP World Championship.
The team have decided to sign Alvin Ostlund for next year and he will move across from the Standing Construct Yamaha team, this is currently his rookie year in the MX2 class. This is also quite interesting as it remains to be seen if the Standing Construct Yamaha team will remain in the paddock for 2017.
It remains to be seen what will happen with Maxime Renaux as he was expected to be the third rider for Kemea Yamaha in the MX2 class. It remains to be seen if the team will decide to keep him in the EMX250 class for 2017 or if he will move up to the MX2 World Championship with another team.
