The first round of the WMX series got underway at Arco di Trento during the weekend and Irish rider, Natalie Kane is back competing at the highest level.
It’s been a tough few years for Kane but she’s motivated to ride the WMX series again on her Team Honda Sweden MX machine.
The first round went pretty well for Kane as she showed some good pace but the starts are a point she needs to work on moving forward. Kane was outside the top twenty in both races but worked her way up to eighth and seventh in the moto’s for a solid day.
After round one Kane sits a respectable seventh in the series but with better starts there’s no reason why she can’t work her way into the top five if he keeps showing that sort of pace.
Next up for Kane is the second round of the series taking place in Portugal this weekend where she will hope to improve on her results from round one.
Natalie Kane: “I had the speed for third to fifth at least, Kiara and Courtney are a bit ahead but with a good start I think I could beat the others just as much as they could beat me. For not racing the world championship properly for a while, it will take some time to just get back up to the race craft and pace. Overall I am disappointed with myself for such bad starts but happy with my riding and able to push the whole race. I still have a few things to work on but not it wasn’t so bad for only riding ice basically until the week before the gp (laughs)”. Kane exclusively told GateDrop.com.
