Jonathan Bengtsson signs with 62 MotoSport

Swedish rider, Jonathan Bengtsson has had a privateer setup whilst contesting the MXGP World Championship the past few years but he’s secured a ride for the 2020 season.

Bengtsson has inked a deal with the 62 MotoSport team which will see him race the European rounds of the MXGP World Championship. The Swedish rider will be happy to have secured a ride in the paddock.

The 62 MotoSport team was created by Klemen Gercar and after he decided to retire from the sport, 2020 will be the first year he’s not a rider under the awning.

Joining Bengtsson under the awning will be Filip Olsson who will contest the EMX250 series and some MX2 World Championship rounds as well.

“Me and Klemen have always been good friends and talked with each other a lot since I started racing in the MXGP series. This year, he asked me about my plans for next year, I think it was in Loket. Then from there we have talked back and forth. We came up to nice agreement and I really look forward to working with Klemen and all the people at Sixtytwo motorsport”, Bengtsson stated.

“I hope for a good and healthy off season so I can come in 100% from the start of the series. Then I hope to take points in every moto.  I want to say thank you to everyone that has helped me come this far.
All of my family, without them I would never be where I am. And of course everyone that has helped me during my full privateer life.
My mechanic Luc Corens, Johan Boonen and all the guys at DT1, Herman Sesink, MXP, LS2 helmets, OC1, CrossXracing, JH Motors”, added Bengtsson.
