Italian Championship RD4: Qualifying results!

The fourth round of the Italian Championship is being held at Ottobiano this weekend, the Italian’s have the luxury to race the track before the GP heads there later in the month.

In the MX2 class, Michele Cervellin and Giuseppe Tropepe who is back on the 8Biano Husqvarna went quickest in their respective groups. Lesiardo and Forato set the second and third quickest times in group one.

In group two it was Lapucci and Furlotti who set the second and third quickest times. Factory Kawasaki wildcard, Stephen Rubini could only manage fifth in his group but will be hoping for better in the races tomorrow.

In the MX1 class, Valentin Guillod is a wildcard this weekend and set the quickest time in his group – he was over two seconds quicker than anyone in group two. David Philippaerts set the second quickest time just edging out Matteo Bonini.

Alessandro Lupino just edged out Rui Goncalves in the first group. Lupino set the quickest lap time out of all the 450’s and was quicker than Guillod who was in the other group.

The main races take place tomorrow around the sandy Ottobiano circuit.
