Graeme Irwin says he is aiming to be British Superbike champion in the future after stepping up to the premier tarmac series in the UK after only one year’s short circuit experience in the British Superstock championship.

It means the former British motocross champ, who showed he could still ride a dirt bike at a pro level in the recent Arenacross in Belfast, would be the first man to win the premier British championship in the both the dirt and the tarmac.

Irwin announced his move to BSB today and re-affirmed his long term goal to win the title. It means three brothers, Glenn, Graeme and Andrew will now be in the same championship at the same time, an amazing achievement for the Irwin family.

The talented Northern Irishman said: “When I was a young boy all I wanted to do was race motorcycles. Once I finished my MX career I had one box that I wanted to tick off and that is to be BSB champion, I have a long way to go to get there but to get this fantastic opportunity with @aaronzanotti64 to race the 2020 @officialbsb championship is the start of me chasing my dream.Thank you to everyone that has made this possible and I look forward to riding the bike at the end of this month for the BSB tests in Spain.”
