Injury update: Jaap Corneth!

In an unfortunate tumble during the ADAC MX Masters race in Jauer Jaap Corneth fractured the middle finger of his left hand. The Dutch 24MX Honda rider is expected to be out for six weeks before he can get back on a motorcycle.

Due to the absence of Corneth this weekend in Latvia and for the coming GPs the 24MX Honda squad is currently looking for a replacement rider. Right when he was making his comeback after a nasty get-off during the opening MXGP round in Qatar the setback comes at a very unlucky moment for the former Dutch 125cc champion.

Jaap Corneth: “I felt the rear kicking out during time practice on Saturday. Before I was able to correct I lost the bike completely. Immediately I was aware something was not okay with my hand. For the time being I’m still wearing this huge cast that goes right up to my elbow. Normally that will be replaced by a smaller one so that I can get back to cycling and at least do some physical training. When I will be back on the bike I want to rebuild my race fitness first before lining up behind the MXGP start gate again.”
