Darian Sanayei couldn’t ride the MXGP of Trentino after injuring his knee at the first round of the Maxxis British Championship.
The American has posted an update that he will be taking a few weeks off to recover from the injury before making a return to racing.
It means he will miss the Portuguese GP at least which takes place this weekend. With Sanayei joining Searle on the injury list it means the Dixon Racing Team are currently without a fit rider for round five taking place this weekend.
Sanayei posted the following update on social media:
Unfortunately I was unable to race this last weekend in Italy due to the injury I got on my knee in England. As of right now we’ve decided I will be taking a few weeks off to get the knee healed up some and strong enough to race. We want to get back out there as soon as possible but just gotta be smart and feel out the situation and see where we are at. Thanks crew! We’ll be back 💪🏼
