Injury update: Bad news for David Herbreteau!

Young MX2 French talent, David Herbreteau crashed during the timed practice session at the MXGP of France which ruled him out of the main races. Unfortunately, Herbreteau dislocated his shoulder and that’s the third time he’s had the same injury.

The French rider has decided it’s best to go for surgery in order to come back stronger in 2019 but it means he will miss the rest of the season which is a real shame.

Herbreteau had been a bit up and down during the season but put in a good ride during the second moto in Matterley Basin to come home in fifteenth which he’d have hoped would have kick started his season.

The VHR KTM team are now left without an MX2 World Championship rider as Alexis Verhaeghe is also currently injured.

Herbreteau posted the following message on social media:

Well Not the home gp I was expecting for. Dislocated shoulder end up my week end at the second lap of the time practice. Problem is that’s the third time , so now gonna get surgery as soon as I can ! This gonna be the end of my season. I couldn’t feel easy with this shoulder since it’s happen for the first time last year and couldn’t give myself at 100% with that. I don’t accept it but didn’t have choice . Sorry to all the sponsor who was give me trust this year and massive thank you also to the #teamvhr Feel bad and sorry Après une épaules déboîter au essais chrono j’ai du abandonner pour le reste du week end sur avis médical.
