Injury update: Arnaud Tonus!
Arnaud Tonus crashed during the second moto at a brutal Kegums track. Yamaha released the following statement last night regarding his situation:
“In the final race, his (Tonus) starting position left him eating roost as he tried to make passes stick, and in the process of charging through the pack, he got out of shape and was kicked over the ‘bars in spectacular style. Because he landed heavily on his back and neck, he went immediately to medical unit for further examination.”
It looks like good news for Tonus as he has escaped a major injury. He will just need a few days rest and then should then be able to prepare for the next GP in Germany. It looks like the Wilvo team will only be down one rider for the next GP as Shaun Simpson broke his hand and has already had an operation.
