The MXGP of USA didn’t go to plan for Arminas, after a crash in the first moto resulted in a dislocated hip and a painful journey back home.
Now, almost seven weeks later things are looking up, as Jasikonis has been given the all clear from his doctor to start training again, with the possibility of getting back on the bike within 3-4 weeks.
“The injury has been tough,” he admitted. “But it was really good to meet with Dr. Alex Demurie on Thursday and get some good news. He said I can start riding my bicycle, go to the gym and even try running on the treadmill, which I’m really happy about and if everything goes to plan I can start carefully riding my bike in 3-4 weeks”.
The injury meant that Jasikonis missed the final two rounds of the World Championship, but despite that still finished the season in 13thplace in the standings on his first full rookie season.
“I’m really looking forward to starting my recovery with my physio Peter Debie” he added. “ Last season I had some really good results and got my first podium, so I want to build up on that and be 110% ready for 2018”.
