The Hutten Metaal Yamaha team are a relatively new team in motocross and this year was the first year they were a regular in the GP paddock.
The team began the season with Micha Boy de Waal and Sven van der Mierden contesting the European rounds of MXGP. With Van der Mierden out injured the team have drafted in Anthony Rodriguez to end the season with the team.
If rumours are to be believed then it could be that the team will become the official Yamaha team in the EMX250 championship and they could run a three rider line up in that class.
We have to wait for official confirmation of the riders but Raivo Dankers is expected to stay and Thibault Bénistant may be looking a ride as the MJC Yamaha team are expected to focus on the EMX125 series again but Yamaha won’t want to lose him.
The SDM-Corse Yamaha team are currently the official Yamaha backed team in EMX250 and whilst they might lose the backing, they’re still expected to run a team in 2020.
The news is expected to be official in the next few weeks.
