Hunter Lawrence on Jett: He’s faster than me

Hunter Lawrence on Jett: He’s faster than me

Being the older brother, Hunter Lawrence has pretty much been used to being faster than his younger brother, Jett. However, with Hunter picking up quite a lot of injuries the past few years and Jett’s stunning rides in the AMA Supercross series the young brother looks to have caught up.

Hunter was off the bike for quite a while but has recently got back on the bike and is expected to racing the final two rounds of the AMA West 250SX series – the Aussie will finally make his Supercross debut and race against Jett.

At the moment, Hunter says that Jett is going faster than him, something he won’t really be used to but he won’t want his little brother getting all the limelight.

“Long story short, Jett’s faster than me… We’re fortunate that we can train at Chad Reed’s old facility in Dade City and have that to ourselves. Jett and I train with Deano [Wilson], so it’s cool to chase them around. For the first time in my life I’m slower than Jett. He’s had seven months worth of Supercross practice and I’m four months behind him, so right now, an average lap for him is a fast lap for me. I can’t deny he’s on rails right now and one of the fastest Supercross racers in the world, so that’s keeping me really motivated. It’s also pretty cool riding with Deano, too. When he was young he used to train here with Chad and Byrner [Michael Byrne] and now the roles are reversed where he’s the old guy, while me and Jett are the young ones”, Lawrence told Motoonline.com.
