Horgmo strong at Arco di Trento

CreyMert KTM rider, Kevin Horgmo adjusted to the technical track of Arco de Trento really well and had a solid weekend contesting round two of the EMX250 series. In the first moto, Horgmo set a good pace and crossed the line in third. The second moto didn’t go as well as he couldn’t get a good start but came home in tenth to earn sixth overall.

For EMX125 rider, Hakon Osterhagen the weekend didn’t go as well as he unfortunately didn’t qualify for the main races.

EMX250:

During qualifying, Horgmo posted the second fastest time in his group to give him a good feeling and gate pick for the main races. The Norwegian couldn’t have took a better start in the first moto as he took the holeshot – at a track that was hard to pass on that was very important. French rider, Stephan Rubini didn’t take long to find away past around young Horgmo and then Forato also made a move. However, Horgmo had a good race and came in home in an impressive third.

Unfortunately, in the second moto he couldn’t replicate his holeshot from the first moto which left him with plenty of work to do. On the first lap, the 18 year old was outside the top fifteen but on a tough track to pass on he starting picking the riders off in front of him. At the end of the race, Horgmo worked his way into a respectable tenth position. Thanks to his good weekend he’s now moved up two spots in the standings to seventh position.

EMX125:

Almost 100 riders entered for round two of the EMX125 series and as always there a tough battle just to qualify. Osterhagen was able to qualify at Valkenswaard but unfortunately couldn’t do the same at Arco after putting in the thirtieth quickest time in his group. The young rider will work to be better for round three were he’ll hope to qualify.

Kevin Horgmo: “Really happy with my holeshot on Saturday,  the riding was decent for a 3rd. Sunday was difficult for me and I didn’t have any energy in the tank unfortunately due to having the flu. I really wanted that podium, but couldn’t make it happen.”

Next race:

The EMX125 series is back in action at round five in Mantova on the 11th and 12th May. The EMX250 series next heads to the French GP on the 25th and 26th of May.
