Horgmo finishes EMX250 season on the box!

Horgmo finishes EMX250 season on the box!

At the final round of the EMX250 championship which took place at the TT Circuit in Assen, Kevin Horgmo had a great weekend on his Creymert KTM to secure himself a podium. The young talent from Norway picked up a 3-2 scorecard to end up second overall. As a rookie he finished tenth in the championship which is a good season to build on for the future. In the EMX125 class, David Braceras didn’t have the best of weekends at the tough Assen track as he couldn’t score any points.

EMX250:

During timed practice, Horgmo put in the second quickest time to give himself a great gate pick for the moto’s. It took Horgmo a while to gel with the track and find his rhythm because after the fifth lap he’d only made two passes to get himself into eighth. However, he started to improve his riding and made nice passes to get himself into fifth. It looked like that’s the best he’d be able to do but after mistakes from Moreau and Sydow he ended up picking up a nice third spot.

Horgmo took a much better start in the second moto as he was sat in second behind Jett Lawrence. The pair of them then set about pulling away from the rest of the pack which they succeeded to do. As the moto went on, Horgmo put a lot of pressure on Lawrence to try and force the Aussie into a mistake but the mistake never came and Horgmo had to be content with second. Overall, it was an encouraging weekend and he’ll be hoping for more performances like it in 2019.

EMX125:

During timed practice, Braceras put in a solid lap time for the sixteenth gate pick. When the gate dropped for the first moto, the young Spaniard did take a good start but got caught up in a pile up which meant he needed to come right through the pack. The speed was pretty good but unfortunately he could only recover to twenty-first spot which meant no points.

In the final EMX125 race of the year, Braceras was battling for a top fifteen position and was as highly as fourteenth at one stage in the moto. Unfortunately, the young Spaniard took a crash pushing too hard. He dropped way back the order to twenty-sixth and could only come back to twenty-second which meant he couldn’t pick up points. The speed was good in Assen but costly errors just let him down.

Kevin Horgmo: It was a good weekend, I could finally get a good result in both motos. Good way to end the season on the box. Unfortunately, no victories this season, but I have been close at times! Want to thank my team, family and sponsors!

David Braceras: I had a good weekend because my speed was good but in the first moto I crashed in the start and I came back to 21 and in the second moto while I riding in 14 I crashed and finish 22. I want to say thanks to my team for this year, I have a lot of experience for next year!

Next race:

The Creymert KTM team can now rest up after a long season but they’re working hard on plans for the 2019 season. One thing set in stone is that Horgmo will stay with the team in 2019 to contest the EMX250 series once again. Announcements will be made in due course regarding his team mates.
