Jeffrey Herlings dominated both motos at a brutal Lommel beating Tony Cairoli by 13 seconds in race one and third place Romain Febvre by 51 seconds!

In race two he beat Cairoli by 33 seconds despite a last lap crash and third place by 47 seconds to underline that he is the fastest man on the planet right now.

Cairoli did the best he could with a 2-2 after his thumb injury and without Herlings there it would have looked like he had dominated the field!

“I felt really good,” said Herlings. “I think it was a dominating victory today, the first moto I could save some energy for the second moto. I went for it until the last lap and even had a little crash!”

Meanwhile, Cairoli admitted he wasn’t where he needed to be to beat Herlings: “I know Jeffrey is very fast in the sand, I am coming from the thumb injury that didn’t let me train the last 3 or 4 weeks and on this track and the speed we are riding you need to be 100%. In the first moto I could hang on quite good but the second moto I had a bad start and used quite a lot of energy in the first four or five laps. We will try to keep this championship alive.”

Max Anstie rode well in both motos to get on the podium despite a crash in race two with a 4-4 score.
