Haavisto and Bres on joining JK Yamaha

The I-Fly JK Yamaha team have recently announced the signings of Jere Haavisto and Natanael Bres for the 2018 season.

After spening the 2018 season with the LRT KTM team, Bres will move up from the EMX250 series to the MX2 World Championship for the year ahead. The French rider will be hoping to learn as much as possible from the best 250cc riders in the world.

“Yves Demaria tried to find me a solution despite a complicated season, it is him who put me in contact with JK and Yamaha who were able to find an solution. I will participate in the MX2 World Championship (except overseas) and the Elite MX2 France Championship”.

“Our main goal is to be in the points most of the time and to get stronger during the season. I had a complicated season because of a knee damaged last winter, I still try to save some results but at the end of May my season stopped because my lca and my two meniscus broken. I’m really happy to have a place in world MX2 championship. I would like to thank the team as well as Yves Demaria, and Yamaha”, commented Bres.

It promised to be a good season for Jere Haavisto but after picking up a serious injury at the first round of the EMX250 series it put an end to his season.

The young Finn now switches from the WZ KTM team to the I-Fly JK Yamaha setup for the year ahead. After a year watching from the sidelines, he’ll be motivated for some good results in 2019. The team and Haavisto have yet to decide between the EMX250 championship or the MX2 World Championship but they’ll make a decision next month.

“I sent an email to Riccardo (team owner), I told him I had no deal for next year and he responded to my email very soon, it seemed so right. I travelled to Italy for a meeting and we had a deal. I was really impressed when I saw the workshop and how they were working there. Also, I was really happy with the bike, I rode with the 2018 model and I think next years bikes will be even a lot better and I am looking forward to start my winter training program with the team”.

“Next month we’ll decide which class I will ride, EMX250 or European MX2 World Championship races. I have high expectations of myself and I am ready to do my greatest for the team. Of course this won’t be possible without my great sponsors and my parents so I’m really thankful for them”, revealed Haavisto.
