Young Aussie rider, Caleb Grothues was with the DIGA-Procross Husqvarna team at the start of the season but after that team signed Iker Larranaga and Brent van Doninck to take on the MX2 World Championship it left the Aussie without a ride.
However, the talented Grothues has a chance of earning a ride until the end of the season with the ASTES4 Yamaha team. Grothues rode the EMX250 round in France with the team but didn’t have much time on the bike to prepare and has either rode a KTM or Husqvarna for the last ten years so he’ll need time to adjust. It meant he wasn’t able to qualify for the main races.
Grothues will also race at Ottobiano this weekend with the ASTES4 Yamaha team and then a decision will be made as to whether he’ll stay with them for the rest of the season.
