Gajser, Prado and Jonass on Saturday in Spain

Tim Gajser took an impresssive race win holding off a determined Romain Febvre to win his first race of the season less that 6 weeks after breaking his jaw, the Slovenian dedicated his win to his brother who was unfortunately killed on this date many years ago.

Gajser said: “I’m just happy to get the race win, it means so much to me because it’s the 24th March, I dedicate that race for my brother. The speed is there I just need to be consistent. I really like the track, it’s really fast with the huge jumps, it’s suits me good, I think the start was key.”

MX2 race winner Pauls Jonass was happy with his win but wants the track rougher tomorrrow. “I was here one week (practicing in the winter). Practice and racing is two different things, the banners make it feel like a different track. I hope they don’t flatten it to keep it rough and keep bit more technical. The start will be the key tomorrow, today was quite flat still and it was difficult to pass. It was a little bit close (the pass) I was screaming he would go straight because I was in the air when he was turning!”

Meanwhile Jorge Prado insists he is even more relaxed at his home GP than a regular race. “Last year we didn’t have a GP in Spain, it’s nice to see the fans in the paddock. It’s crazy to have a GPnand here is Redsand, it’s fun, no pressure at all – it’s even more relaxed!”

It all looks set for s superb day’s racing tomorrow!
