French Championship RD1: Results!

The first round of the French Elite Championship is taking place at Saint-Jean D’Angely this weekend.

MX2

During qualifying it was Mathys Boisrame competing at his first race for the Assomotor Honda team and Brian Moreau on his 250cc Bud Kawasaki who set the pace in their groups.

It’s very impressive from Moreau as he is racing the EMX125 this season but using the french championship to adapt to the MX2 machine and he is already showing impressive speed.

MX2 Group A

MX2 Group B

After showing good pace in practice, Mathys Boisrame didn’t disappoint as he dominated the first moto of the day. Arnaud Aubin got a good start and was running in second before being past by Tristan Charboneau which pushed him down to third.

Aubin then suffered from a crash when running third which promoted Marshal Weltin up the pecking order. Weltin then put on a charge, caught his team mate and made the move into second. Both American rides impressed in their first moto of the year on the BUD Kawasaki’s. Maxime Renaux ended up crossing the line in fourth.

MX2 Moto one: 

Tristan Charboneau grabbed the holeshot in the second moto but moto one winner, Mathys Boisrame passed him on the first lap and clinched a double moto victory. Charboneau finished second to clinch second overall on the day ahead of his team mate, Marshal Weltin.

MX2 Moto Two: 

MX1:

Both Honda riders, Valentin Teillet and Xavier Boog got their day of to a good start as they both went quickest in their respective groups.

In the first MX1 moto of the day it was Maxime Desprey and Xavier Boog locked in a fantastic battle for the lead. In the end it was Maxime Desprey who just edged out Xavier Boog on his BUD Kawasaki. British Championship rider, Steven Lenoir rode his way through the pack to finish in an impressive third edging out British AX rider, Cedric Soubeyras.

MX1 Moto One:

Steven Lenoir who has been riding lots of sand in the UK the past few years put on a fantastic performance in the second moto and won it to clinch the overall on the day. He just edged out Valentin Teillet for the victory. Graulus and Boog had a close battle but the GP rider just did enough to finish third.

MX1 Moto Two:

Juniors: 

In the first 125cc moto of the day it was Calvin Fonvieille who grabbed glory on his LR KTM ahead of Thibault Benistant and Maxime Charlier. Tom Guyon who is stepping up from the 85cc machine was an impressive fourth, he could be one to watch out for as the season progresses.

Juniors moto one:

Calvin Fonvieille made it a double moto victory at the first round to get his season of to a great start. Thibault again was runner up in the second moto as he just didn’t have enough got Calvin on the day but it was a good start to the season never the less.

Tom Guyon finished another solid fourth to end up third overall on his TM machine.
