EMX250 RD1: Results

The first round of the EMX250 championship is finally upon us. It was Simone Furlotta and Karlis Sabulis that set the pace in their qualifying groups.

Brad Todd put in superb lap time and just missed out on pole but he was second in his group!

Race One:

The first EMX250 race was somewhat of an Italian fest with Simone Furlotti bringing home glory and it was some way to do it! He won by over twenty seconds over Karlis Sabulis. Alberto Forato was all over the Latvian but just about failed to make it an Italian 1-2.

Miro Sihvonen didn’t get a good start but worked his way from outside the top ten into fourth at the finish which is a good result. Brad Todd was having a superb race inside the top ten but then unfortunately went down but he finished in fifteenth which is a solid result.

Jago Geerts got a good start and was running third before a small crash, when he remounted he only managed another couple of laps before he had to DNF.

Morgan Lesiardo grabbed the holeshot and went onto win the second moto to secure an Italian 1-2 overall to delight of the home crowd!

Simone Furlotti finished the moto in third which was good enough to take the overall win and takes the red plate to Valkenswaard next weekend. Sihvonen finished the second moto behind Lesiardo and takes third overall.

Todd Kellett put in a superb ride to cross the line in eighth, that is something to build on for the Brit!
