Edmonds and Law on Foxhill

Edmonds and Law on Foxhill

The final round of the Michelin MX Nationals saw the Apico Husqvarna team return to the historic venue of Foxhill near Swindon. The hardpack circuit was baked in sunshine all weekend as the team looked to finish the series in style.

During the qualifying session Jamie Law was riding well and starting clicking off a number of fast laps and finished the session 6th fastest in the MX1 class. Team mate Stuart Edmonds was also riding well and finished just behind in 8th place.

The opening race started well with both Jamie and Stuart inside the top 10, unfortunately on the second lap Jamie crashed heavily on one of the uphill jumps and was forced to pit to repair the bike. Stuart was riding a steady race while struggling with arm pump to finish in 8th. Jamie returned to the track after his forced pit stop and finished 15th in MX1

The final race of the season saw Jamie start inside the top 10 while Stuart was held up by another rider crashing in front of him. As the race went on Jamie rode well to finish 8th and Stuart recovered to finish 12th.

After a tough final round, Stuart ended the season 7th in the MX1 Championship with Jamie just behind in 9th place.

Jamie Law: Qualifying went well with a 6th. First race was going good in 5th until I caught a kicker wrong on the uphill step up and crashed, the bike was badly bent so I had to pit to straighten it out. In the second race I finished 8th with a couple of small mistakes which cost me finishing slightly higher up. I’m happy with my riding and even happier to come away from a savage Foxhill healthy.

Stuart Edmonds: I came into the weekend feeling great and positive about a good result. Qualifying went ok with 8th. In moto 1 I got a super jump out of the gate heading into the corner looking to get a holeshot but stupidly ran wider than I had planned and sat in around the top 10 I struggled with arm pump and managed to bring it home in 8th place. Moto 2 the start was great but another rider was nearly down but managed to save it and stopping dead in front of me causing me to fall to the back of the pack making work hard for me to make any ground back up to the leaders as it was tough to pass and very slippery and all I could salvage 12th MX1. It was a very tough day for me but I got on with it and tried to bring it home safe making sure to stay fit and healthy for next weekend and also Assen the week after. Big thanks to everyone that has helped this year, it’s not my best of years but I just kept working at it and pushing forward eventually finishing up in 7th overall tied on points with 6th in the championship.

Dylan Brown – Team Owner: Both Jamie and Stu had a reasonable and safe day at Foxhills for the last round of MX Nationals posting good lap times for qualifying. Jamie got lucky with the crash in the first race but kept pushing on until the end whilst Stu put in two good rides on the day. Matt sat out the last round due to an ongoing ankle injury which has been troubling him all season. Overall another well run MX Nationals season by Paul & Neil and we look forward to coming back next year.
