Newly crowned 2018 Irish MX2 champ Meara said: “I think it is really good fun. It was a lot better than I expected, coming here I thought it was going to be quite boring to be honest but I got my eyes opened and the bikes are really good fun to ride.”

Meara and cousin Sean Devlin also had some entertaining bar-to-bar action on the track with Devlin punting Meara into the barriers only for Jason to put Devlin on the deck next time out – but it was all in good craic!

“Me and Sean were out in the same group and I took him out there, I told him it was an accident but I really did it on purpose!” laughed Meara when recalling the incident.

The track was well received by all the riders at the event with British and European championship contender Martin Barr commenting: “Its unbelievable, what the guys have done here is absolutely fantastic. I was down about five weeks ago testing the track for them and from then until now what they have done is unbelievable.”

They have done so much work and they have it looking fantastic. I just hope it takes off for them, the track, the bikes, everything about it is brilliant. It’s just motocross indoors.”

“The electric bikes are really good, I can’t believe how torquey they are, and they handle really good. They have taken on a big project and came out swinging with it. Now it’s just up to everyone to support it.”
