Dutch team to contest European MXGP rounds in 2019

The Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing team have announced their rider line up for the 2019 season.  It’s no surprise to see Sven van der Mierden stay with the team but they’ve also inked a deal with Micha Boy de Waal and he’ll move up to the 450cc.

The team are also planning an MX2 rider but it’ll be announced in due course.

Last year the team had a good season as van der Mierden finished fifth in the Dutch Masters of Motocross and managed to win the Open Dutch title at Halle last weekend.

Next year, the Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing team have decided to step things up and the plan is to ride ten European rounds of the MXGP World Championship as well as contesting the Dutch Masters of Motocross.

Herjan Brakke (team coordinator): ”With Sven and Micha we have a strong team for 2019. Both riders can learn from each other in different aspects, which can be very positive for both. The focus will be more on the Grand Prix’s in 2019 and that is why we will do a strong preparation this winter so that they are ready to start in the strongest class in the world.”
