Ice One Husqvarna riders, Max Nagl and Gautier Paulin were first and second in the first MX1 moto of the day. The Wilvo Yamaha pair battled for third position with Simpson just edging out Tonus but the Swiss rider is getting used to the sand pretty quickly again.

It was not a good moto for Herlings coming home in seventh, especially considering it’s in the sand where he usually thrives.

MX1 Moto One:

After a bad start in the first moto Jeffrey Herlings put it behind him and had a much better showing in the second moto as he won. That will help his confidence before the GP of Mexico next weekend. Three ICE One Husqvarna’s followed him over the line with Nagl the first of those and followed by Paulin and Anstie.

Second in moto two was good enough for Nagl to take the overall on the day. He will be hoping to build on that and improve at the GP’s.

MX2

In the MX2 class it was Calvin Vlaanderen who put the quickest time in on his HSF Logistics KTM as he excels in the sand. Thomas Kjer Olsen and Brian Bogers put in the second and third best lap times. Roan van de Moosdijk continues to impress this pre season with the fifth best time.

MX2 Timed Practice:

1. Calvin Vlaanderen
2. Thomas Kjer Olsen

Thomas Kjer Olsen won an entertaining first MX2 moto of the day as only six seconds separated the top four at the chequered flag. Olsen beat HSF Logistics rider, Brian Bogers and nothing separated his team mate, Calvin Vlaanderen and Jeremy Seewer when crossing the line.

The first four GP riders pulled away from the rest of the pack but it was Nick Kouwenberg who was the best placed EMX250 rider in fifth ahead of Jago Geerts.

MX2 Moto One:

Jeremy Seewer improved in the second moto and grabbed the victory ahead of Brian Bogers. Bogers has had a difficult start to the season but it’s great to see him ride much more like himself today and two second places meant he won the overall.

Calvin Vlaanderen took a solid third just like in moto one, Miro Sihvonen was much improved for moto two and crossed the line in a great fourth position. Jago Geerts also impressed with a great fifth and beat Thomas Kjer Olsen.

Aussie Champ, Jed Beaton was much improved for moto two and finished a great ninth place as he crossed the line ahead of Henri Jacobi.

Mikkel Haarup means business this year, he won the first moto of the day by thirty seconds over Dankers which is a sublime ride. ProGrip Yamaha riders, Rasmus Hakansson and Christopher Mills battled for third with the Brit just missing out but it’s still an impressive ride for him.

125cc Moto One:

Haarup took the clean sweep and won the second moto in what was a perfect day for the Danish rider. Again, Dankers finished up in second as they were the two strongest riders on the day. Kevin Horgmo who DNF’d the first moto took a strong third in moto two.

Rick Elzinga improved for the second race to take fourth and edge out the ProGrip Yamaha riders, Rasmus Hakannson and Christopher Mills.
