Diga Procross Husqvarna on why Jeremy Sydow will no longer be a reserve for Germany’s MXoN squad

Team DIGA-Procross Husqvarna told MXoN Team Germany’s Wolfgang Thomas on Saturday afternoon that Jeremy Sydow is not available as reserve rider for the MXoN in Assen.

Justin Amian explained the situation as follows:

Jeremy Sydow approached me about two weeks ago and told me that he got a brief message and was accepted into the squad for the MXoN in Assen. In order to get more details and an official information, I searched for the contact to the MXoN Teammanager, unfortunately several times in vain.

The first contact with the team manager of MXoN Team Germany took place on Saturday afternoon in Gaildorf, since I seized the opportunity and proactively approached Wolfgang Thomas. In a relatively short and concise conversation, Wolfgang Thomas told me that Jeremy Sydow is nominated as a reserve rider and unlike the already nominated riders is not fast enough to nominate him as a rider in the open class. I have rejected this nomination by mutual agreement with Jeremy Sydow and his family.”

Why the nomination of Jeremy Sydow was rejected as a reserve rider Justin Amian justified as follows:

“On the one hand, we can not see why Jeremy Sydow, who drew attention to the entire season with very strong results at the EMX250, including Podium and the lead in the ADAC Youngster Cup, after his wrist injury at the start of the year, is replaced by a rider who this year has rode just at the national German races. And on the other hand, because of the responsible persons of the MXoN team, it was unfortunately not considered necessary to seek contact with the team and to include this professionally in the planning. Unfortunately, the laid-back and rather simple MXoN team structure is not in line with our philosophy.

“We, Team DIGA-Procross Husqvarna, as a professional MXGP team, are not willing to spend the effort of building two new race bikes, making suspension tests, doing the logistical coordination and much more for any eventual use with the MXoN. Personally, I wish for the future, that in addition to the athletes also the teams get included in an early and professional planning so that Germany can be represented at the MX of Nations with dignity. I offer my support for planning next year’s MXoN team.”
