After four weeks of racing as a privateer out of a van, it appears Dean Wilson’s bid to go it alone has paid off with a factory ride.
Wilson has been rumoured to go to Husqvarna in the last few days and it appears this has been confirmed by the entry list for the Oakland supercross this weekend, which list Dean as riding for the factory Rockstar Husqvarna team.
With Wilson having ridden for KTM the adjustment should be relatively quick and it will interesting to see if Dean’s performances improve with the extra support.
But where does that leave Christophe Pourcel? After poor performances this season that remains to be seen. Some rumours are saying he is out, and others saying he will finish the supercross season with Husky but not do the outdoors.
Pourcel certainly hasn’t shown the talent that he has so far in supercross, but says he has had the flu for the first couple of weeks of the season, however the potential is still there if he can find a way to unlock it.
As ever, Pourcel remains a bit of an enigma and his future plans in the sport are unknown.
