De Waal replaces Van Berkel!

As Lars Van Berkel has been drafted in at the official HRC Honda MX2 team the VAMO Honda team have replaced him with Dutch talent, Micha Boy De Waal.

De Waal has a history racing in the MX2 World Championship in the past but moved up to the 450 machine last year. However, this opportunity has now presented itself nicely and he will partner Michael Ivanov under the VAMO Honda at the next two GP’s in Valkenswaard and Latvia.

De Waal is a sand specialist so could be a surprise package, it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the MX2 bike again after a year on the 450! After the Latvian GP, Lars Van Berkel is expected to return to the VAMO Honda team again but if De Waal impresses he may be able to find himself a full-time ride in the MX2 class for the rest of the season!
