Cyril Genot came into the season as a privateer but unfortunately picked up a shoulder injury. The talented Belgian made his return to racing at the third round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross where he finished eighth overall in the MX2 class.
The Belgian then contested the EMX250 rounds in Kegums and Matterley Basin were he collected thirteen championship points. The VHR KTM team have decided to sign him due to some injury problems the team is having. It’s thought Genot will spend the rest of the season under the VHR KTM awning where he’ll contest the rest of the EMX250 championship.
Genot’s first race with the team was in France and he picked up four points finishing eighteen and twentieth in the moto’s. It could have been better for the Belgian but he took some crashes which hindered his results. He’ll be hoping to improve as he adapts to the bike and gets more comfortable with the team.
“I’m really happy to get this opportunity. For sure it’s a bit of a surprise due to the results I’ve shown at the moment but we know there’s a lot of progression”.
“This weekend I just felt awesome with the team, it felt like home with them. Despite bad results due to some stupid crashes and some small details, I hope to keep on improving with them and get to where we want to be” Genot had to comment on his debut with the team.
