Coldenhoff on a tough home GP

Glenn Coldenhoff of the Standing Construct KTM Team battled through a difficult home GP at Valkenswaard. Glenn had a bad start in the first race, and battled to find his rhythm thereafter. As a result he only finished 17th, wholly below his expectations. Glenn broke into the top ten for the second race, finishing tenth and somewhat curtailing the damage on a weekend that was not his.

“It was a difficult weekend for me,” he said. “I just could not find my rhythm on the sand, even training during the week leading up to the GP. I actually feel more comfortable on hard tracks at the moment ironically, but of course that is no excuse. I had a rotten start in the first race, and was not riding smoothly at all. We had also changed a few settings on the bike that did not really work. Needless to say, I was not happy with 17th.

Things went somewhat better in the second race and I finished tenth, but I’m certainly not happy with these results. Next week we’ll be in Arco di Trento in Italy, and I normally perform well there. I won a GP heat there in 2014, and also did well there last year, so I’m looking forward to it.”

After three rounds of the MXGP world championship series Glenn is 12th in the standings.
