Cianciarulo’s MEC 450 debut – ready to turn dreams into reality!

450 supercross is what his whole life has been geared for and now, finally, the much hyped Adam Cianciarulo has made it.

Eight years after winning the Monster Energy Cup on an 85, the exuberant, out-going but fiercely determined and competitive Cianciarulo, is ready to dice with some of the best supercross racers in the world at the race that gave him his first taste of winning inside a stadium packed with thousands of fans.

At that stage Cianciarulo was primed to be the next Villopoto, he was supposed to be the next superstar of the sport, working with Aldon Baker from he was on 80s alongside RV and signed on a long-term deal to Pro Circuit Kawasaki, it was expected he would be the man to beat, but it didn’t happen like it was supposed to.

Ultimately his media profile was bigger than the results he got after injuries in supercross and some struggles outdoors killed his momentum.

But he didn’t give up. Cianciarulo has always had an inner belief that he was an elite level rider and finally in 2019 he showed why. A late-race crash in the final round of supercross killed his 250 supercross title hopes but he impressively absorbed the blow and turned it around in style outdoors.

Cianciarulo was always known as a supercross specialist, but after losing that title at Vegas his mind was even more focused. This was a different Cianciarulo, no more silly mistakes, with laser, blinkered focus he made the right decisions when it counted, won races when he could, got the starts and made the best results possible in every race he entered. Cianciarulo finally became a 250 class champion in the last 250 championship of his career, and he did it the hard way.

With all of his ups and downs, the 22 year old has still made it to the factory 450 level and now is the time and the stage he has always wanted to shine in.

He revels in the attention, he loves winning and he loves competing, and with former schoolboy rival, Cooper Webb, the defending supercross champ and Eli Tomac arguably America’s fastest rider as his teammate, Cianciarulo has all the motivation and the people around him he needs to be a success.

An interesting angle will be how will Tomac cope with another Alpha as his teammate. Tomac doesn’t like the attention, he stays quiet and just wants to win races but now, right beside him in the same awning is a hungry young rider who loves the attention, has the speed to battle and probably has as many fans as Tomac already!

Cianciarulo won’t play second fiddle in the team, he won’t be happy to play the number two role like Savatgy did for Tomac in 2019, he wants to win, he wants to be number one in the team and on the track.

For Adam Cianciarulo this is now the opportunity to make his childhood dreams reality.
