Aaron Plessinger had been having a steady start to his 450 rookie season and had his best result, a fifth place, last weekend in Atlanta but one mistake at Daytona has presumably ended the factory Yamaha rider’s supercross season.

Plessinger cased one of the long rhythm sections and got ejected out the front door, landing on his feet on the face of another jump while running inside the top ten. But the impact was heavy and Plessinger hobbled off the side of the track before lying drown on the tarmac and putting his ankle in the air immediately, before later confirming on social media that his heel is indeed broken.

With no Justin Barcia in Daytona it means no factory Yamaha riders on track right now in what has suddenly turned into a frustrating season for the Yamaha crew despite a positive first half of the campaign.
