Breaking News: Herbreteau replaces Tixier for CLS Kawasaki at Argentina

David Herbreteau to race with Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team in Argentina

Following the FIM announcement published last week concerning Jordi Tixier, the Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team will replace the reigning World Champion by young hopeful David Herbreteau at the Grand Prix of Argentina.

As the FIM confirmed that the Frenchman has a suspension of one month starting from 8th of March, and will not be allowed to race the GP of Argentina, the team in accordance with its partners has decided to send David Herbreteau to South America. The young Frenchman, who finished last season fourth in the European 125 series with two heat wins joined the Kawasaki Junior program last winter to compete in the European MX2 Championship this season. David who has only raced in Valence International this season will return from Argentina with even more experience before the opening round of the EMX2, scheduled in Arco di Trento on April 19th.

Jean Jacques Luisetti commented: “Last winter we decided with our partners to launch this Junior program, and today we are pleased to find a solution to replace Jordi and line up three riders in Argentina. David has no pressure for this race, he hasn’t raced so much yet this season but practiced a lot on his Monster Energy Kawasaki; we just want him to give his best and build on his experience. I want to thank our partners, especially WP, Thor, TCX and Scott, as David will race in Argentina with his personal sponsors. This last minute decision wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the French Federation, and of BOS Suspension who are one of David’s partners.”

Steve Guttridge commented “We are obviously very sorry that since some great pre-season International races, Jordi has had a bad run at the first 2 GP’s this year! Of course we respect the decision of the FIM and we trust that Jordi, as the current World Champion, can come back to the Championship in Italy for round 4 and demonstrate just that professionalism that we all know and respect him for. It’s great that the team can offer the seat to our young rider David to allow him some priceless experience of racing GP’s that we are sure he will absorb and help progress his speed even faster with this opportunity!”
