Young French talent, Mathys Boisrame will make his MX2 World Championship debut this weekend at the MXGP of Trentino. Last year, Boisrame was only a rookie in the EMX250 championship but picked up an injury during the winter which meant he had to miss the first three rounds of the series.
When Boisrame returned to racing he showed some great speed and climbed all the way to ninth place in the championship. This year Boisrame hopes to win the title but the first round of the series didn’t quite go to plan with bad starts and crashes resulting in only eight points collected.
However, the Assomotor Honda rider will contest the MX2 World Championship this weekend to see where he stands with the best MX2 riders in the world.
“2018 is an important season for me, cause there’s definitely a bridge between the EMX250 series and the MX2 World Championship. Apart the European title that I will try to clinch this year, I will also compete in 2 or 3 MX2 races to figure out how fast I am compared to the best 250F riders in the world. It will also give me an extra speed I hope to get better results in my main championship as well”.
“I will choose tracks that suit my style, Arco being one of them. I just can’t wait to line-up with all the best, in Italy. It’s also important for my team Honda-Assomotor. Let’s see where we can end up after two 35 minute moto’s”. Boisrame exclusively told GateDrop.com.
