Banks-Browne stays with Geartec Husqvarna

Husqvarna Motorcycles UK is pleased to announce that double British Motocross Champion Elliott Banks-Browne, will remain with the Geartec Husqvarna Motorcycles team for the 2019 season. Banks-Browne will be competing aboard the all-new 2019 FC 450 machine in the Maxxis British Motocross Championship, Bridgestone British Masters and the MX Nationals.

Holding two back to back titles in the British MX2 class, Banks-Browne’s injury free season during 2018 allowed him to have his successful year to date amongst a field of highly talented competitors. In his third year of MX1, the Bridgestone British Masters Pro Champion and runner up in the MX Nationals has his sights set on the coveted British MX1 title in the Maxxis British Motocross Championship.

Geartec Husqvarna Motorcycles will be the only MX1 British Pro team supported by Husqvarna Motorcycles UK for the 2019 season. Banks-Browne will remain the team’s manager and number one rider. He will enter as a wild card in certain races outside of the chosen championships, but these are yet to be confirmed.

Elliott Banks-Browne, Geartec Husqvarna:
I am really happy to be part of Husqvarna Motorcycles UK again for 2019. I have had two good years with them, which I feel have been building years, but now I am ready for the next step. I am going into the 2019 season with all new FC 450s, which I am really excited about. The bike has had a lot of good changes, which seem to suit me well. I feel like next year we have a good shot of battling for the championship. The goal is to be British MX1 Champion. We have some exciting changes coming with both the team and with WP Suspension too, so everyone is working hard to make it happen for next year and I am very excited to be part of it.

Matt Walker, Managing Director, Husqvarna Motorcycles UK:
Husqvarna Motorcycles UK is very pleased to be working with Elliott Banks-Browne and Geartec Husqvarna again for 2019. Elliott has been an asset to the brand and the team that he has self-managed. Under his responsibility, the whole operation has gone from strength to strength over the past two years. This season Elliott has really shown he has what it takes to earn the British MX1 title. 2019 will be an interesting year for us as the FC 450 is all new and much stronger competitively. I know that Elliott is already a big fan of the changes, so I am excited to see how things unfold.
