Austin Forkner update – spleen removed
Austin Forkner has revealed he has had a third of his pancreas removed plus his spleen after his crash at the East/West shootout in Salt Lake City.
Forkner says the pain was the worst he has ever experienced and that his time in hospital was brutal.
Stefan Everts also had his spleen removed after a first turn crash in 92 while leading the 250 world championship in his rookie year and went on to win nine more world titles.
So, Forkner has hope for success in the rest of his career, but as you can see at the end of Forkner’s video,the surgery and scars prove what a tough time he has been through.
