An emotional Pocock on his EMX250 moto win!

An emotional Pocock on his EMX250 moto win!

Back in 2012 a young and talented Mel Pocock won the EMX250 Championship and since then posted some good results in the MX2 World Championship too.

However, at the first round of the Maxxis British Championship back in 2015, Pocock had a horrific injury and almost lost his hand. Pocock did end up losing his thumb and that would be enough to put most riders off the sport. Pocock has showed great determination to get back to his best despite losing his thumb.

The EMX250 Championship couldn’t have got off to a better start for the Brit on the Revo Husqvarna as he won the first moto.

“It’s literally indescribable.Β  From my injury, from almost losing my hand. All the work I’ve put in, I’m so thankful to Revo Husqvarna, Mark and Sam Yates and everyone behind me.Β  It’s the first race win of the season and I’m speechless, just a big thanks to everyone”. Pocock said to Lisa Leyland after his victory.

Here’s a reminder of the injury Mel suffered back in 2015:

Dressing change and a tonne of stitches out today ! One step closer 😊 missing riding already can't wait to ride again !
